Glass packaging specialist Croxsons has launched a range of beer bottles especially selected for the growing independent brewing sector.
Unveiled at the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) BeerX event in Sheffield, UK in March, Croxsons' new bottles are designed to fill a gap between standard 330ml or 500ml bottles and top-end premium products, offering brewers an opportunity to create standout for their brand at an “affordable” price, with a total of 10 bottles in different shapes, sizes and colours.
The range comprises 500ml and 330ml bottles in green, amber and flint, including a version of the ‘Curvy’ bottle, which was used for the recently-launched Harry Brompton’s Alcoholic London Ice Tea.
The London-based glass company’s chief operating officer Tim Croxson says: “There hasn’t been a huge amount of innovation in beer bottle design in recent years, but we knew from our conversations with customers that there was a need for something new and different.
“Typically, these bottles are going to appeal to brewers whose bottled business has grown to the point where they are building distribution beyond their heartland, meaning standout on the supermarket shelf or chiller becomes even more important.”
