Croxsons glass closures partner Elmoris gets BRC approval

25 March 2013

Glass packaging specialist Croxsons plans to begin targeting large food producers following the recent BRC accreditation achieved by its trading partner for closures, Elmoris.

Lithuania-based Elmoris secured accreditation from the British Retail Consortium (BRC) in early March, in time for the two companies’ joint exhibit at the IFE food & drink sector show in London, 17-20 March.

Elmoris has a particularly speciality in manufacturing metal twist-off closures, printed to the customer’s design.

Croxsons chief operating officer Tim Croxson says: “Elmoris’s BRC accreditation is a game-changer both for them and for Croxsons, and strengthens our partnership going forward.

“It gives us a foot in the door with larger food producers who have to show BRC accreditation throughout their supply chain in order to win business from national retailers.

“Only a handful of packaging companies currently supply these producers, so we’re confident that Croxsons, as a smaller, more flexible operation, will be able to shake up existing arrangements and take market share.”

The BRC accreditation gives assurance for food producers that Elmoris is compliant with all food safety regulations, including HACCP.

Larger retailers accept BRC accreditation as a guarantee of food safety, meaning they don’t need to carry out audits on production facilities.

Based in south London, family-run Croxsons was founded in 1872 and now has international representation in Spain, Australia and New Zealand.
