Cosmetics packaging group Hermann Koch changes hands

In Germany, 94% of the shares in leading cosmetics packaging manufacturer Hermann Koch GmbH and its sister company Kunststofftechnik Straufhain GmbH have been sold to a financial group, Velox, run by Dr Thiemo Hagedorn.

With annual sales of €20 million and 250 personnel at sites in Coburg and Straufhain, Germany, Hermann Koch Group is “is strongly driven by design”.

The company produces about 1.2m parts per day, mainly using injection moulding and extrusion blow moulding, and enhances the appearance of those products by using cutting edge technologies, working for well-known worldwide cosmetic brands.

New managing directors Dr Hagedorn and Dr Jörg Lux state that: “Innovative packaging ideas, interesting design, customer-orientation and a highly efficient production will strengthen and improve our market position in the cosmetic industry in the coming years.

“Coburg with its cluster of business partners and suppliers is the perfect location.”

Founded in 1914 and producing plastic products for the cosmetic industry since 1929, exports account for about 50% of the company’s turnover.
