Cosfibel acquisitions further global luxury sector ambitions

26 December 2012

Cosfibel is continuing its push into luxury consumer goods packaging with the acquisition of Paris-based agency Gift ID, and Asian Luxury in Hong Kong.

The move follows the France-based luxury merchandising and packaging group’s acquisition of luxury wine and spirits pack producer Solvpack in August.

Gift ID and Asian Luxury will form part of Cosfibel Premium – the luxury set-up boxes and promotional items section of the French group – which the company says accounts for three-quarters of its total business (the remainder being in plastic secondary packaging through Cosfibel Industry).

Managed by Priscille Allais since 2008, Gift ID will continue to run as an autonomous entity with its existing management team.

“This agency has become a key player in upper-class gift design for more than 20 major brands in the luxury and cosmetics markets,” Cosfibel says.

Asian Luxury is said to have developed a “unique expertise” in high-luxury gifts such as leather goods.

“This expertise on high-luxury brands has developed rapidly thanks to its high level of know-how and excellent standard of quality control,” Cosfibel says.

Founded in 2000, Cosfibel Group predicts its sales will reach €100 million in 2013, of which €80m is expected to come from Cosfibel Premium.

“We strongly believe that such growth will allow the Group to focus on innovative new developments while serving better its worldwide customers,” says Cosfibel founder and executive chairman Alain Chevassus.
