Contego invests in new print facility in Germany

1 November 2011

Most recent in its ongoing programme of investment, UK-registered Contego Packaging says that its new state-of-the-art leaflet facility in Wolfen, Germany is scheduled for completion by summer 2012.

The new 62,000 sq m factory – being built to replace Contego’s existing facility in Wolfen – will house the latest printing and folding technology. When fully up and running, the company expects it to create 26 new jobs, raising the number of employees at the site to 110 by 2013.

Tom Reid, Contego Packaging Group CEO, said: “The new facility at Wolfen means we will have production and warehousing under one roof, enabling a more efficient workflow and ensuring we continue to comply with Good Manufacturing Practice.

“It also means we can meet customer requirements now and in the future and gives us the potential we need for growth.”

Formerly Nampak Healthcare, before being acquired by Platinum Equity earlier this year, Contego Packaging supplies the pharmaceutical industry with cartons, leaflets, labels and blister pack foils from ten sites across Europe. It also produces cartons for the food and beverage sectors from two sites in the UK and one in Holland.

With its registered office in Bagshot, Surrey, Contego Packaging is a founding member of the Prisma Packaging Group.
