Contract packer Complete Core Business Solutions is to invest a further £1 million in new warehousing and production facilities at its site in Wales, with the expectation of creating 20 new jobs.
The self-financed investment includes some £55,000 invested in blow moulding equipment, together with £60,000 in a material transport and filling line, and €750,000 (approx. £630,000) for an automated carton erection line and a filling production line.
Privately owned by managing director Steve Nicholls, Complete Core has seen business grow by 50% in the last year, with exports reaching 60%. The company has also recently achieved Soil Association accreditation, and is now said to be experiencing “considerable demand” from the organic food sector.
“The statistics show organic consumption is on the rise,” says Nicholls. “Our clients are therefore increasingly recognising the need for outsourcing their contract packing and filling to a supplier that holds Soil Association accreditation.
Much of the company’s work now involves the filling of products into pouches and bottles, Nicholls adds.
“Hence the investment in the new production facilities that complement our dedicated clean room.”
In addition to the dedicated clean room, Complete Core facilities include pasteurisation, testing of pH levels and solids, mixing and blending, pouch filling, flow wrapping, bottle filling and vacuum packing along with auger-filling, multi-head weighing and linear weigher capabilities.
The premises are HMRC licensed as a trade facility warehouse, and the company expects to receive SALSA accreditation soon.
