Food & beverage packaging decontamination specialist Claranor is to deliver its first pulsed light unit for preform neck sterilisation by the end of the year.
Aimed at the ultraclean packaging of sensitive beverages, the application will complete the France-based company’s offer of cap sterilisation for ultraclean lines, providing an alternative to traditional hydrogen peroxide preform decontamination systems.
“The decontamination of the neck in association with the heating treatment of the body of preforms allows a decontamination in the range of 3 log,” the company says.
“With this new development, associated to the now widely in operation cap pulsed light sterilization, Claranor offers to equipment manufacturers and beverage producers a dry and non-chemical alternative to packaging sterilisation processes for ultra-clean filling lines.”
At the 13-15 Nov Brau Beviale show in Nuremberg, Germany, Claranor will present its new pulsed light system alongside a new double chute cap sterilisation unit for ultraclean products (pictured), at the booth of its distributor in Germany, Loehrke.
The double chute cap steriliser is able to decontaminate two types of cap with different diameters, using only one treatment unit – a new option designed to match the need for versatility of filling lines, with investment cost savings, convenience in terms of format changes, and space savings.
Based in Avignon, Claranor designs, builds and sells its equipment to end users through its distribution network or to equipment manufacturers in the beverage and dairy industries.
