Bosch Packaging Technology is to expand its Liquid Food business unit with the acquisition of the assets of France-based PET container manufacturer and filler Tecsor Machines et Systèmes.
Set up in 2005, Tecsor develops and sells packaging machinery for liquid and paste-like foodstuffs, and generated sales of about €2 million in 2012, employing 14 associates.
The planned acquisition is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities, and the purchase price will not be disclosed.
“With Tecsor, we are further adding to our activities in the area of liquid foods,” said Friedbert Klefenz, president of the Bosch Packaging Technology division.
The move is a strategic complement to the acquisition by Bosch in October 2012 of Ampack in Königsbrunn, Germany.
With a portfolio including filling machinery for cups and bottles, Ampack machinery is mainly used to fill and package highly sensitive foodstuffs such as dairy products, baby food, and hospital food.
Using a special blow-moulding technology, a machine developed by Tecsor can make and fill between 6,000 and 32,000 bottles per hour.
