25 March 2014

Sales at Bosch Packaging Technology broke through the €1 billion barrier for the first time ever in 2013.

According to the Germany-based process and packaging technology specialist, the pharmaceuticals sector provided the company with a “big boost” towards achieving sales growth of 6.4% (adjusted for consolidation effects) in fiscal 2013, up from €914 million to €1.1 billion.

By comparison, Bosch cites figures from the German association of mechanical engineers (VDMA) putting growth in the German packing machinery industry as a whole at 4%.

“We are exactly on track,” says Bosch Packaging Technology president Friedbert Klefenz.

“We expect to maintain our growth rate in the current business year as well and reach the target we have set ourselves of €1.5 billion in sales by 2015.”

Bosch Packaging Technology is among the fastest-growing divisions of the Bosch Group.

In addition to its main markets of Europe and North America, in fiscal 2013 the company posted “above-average” growth in Asia, while the markets of Africa and the Middle East continue to gain in importance for the company too.
