Benco Pack of Italy has been chosen by a major Korean Food company, Pulmuone to supply an aseptic form-fill-seal machine to produce microwaveable thermoformed cups for soups.
The horizontal aseptic machine uses a three step packaging and filling process. Containers are thermoformed starting from a roll of multi-layer barrier film (PP/EVOH/PP) filled with the soup product, closed by a thermo sealed peelable lid and then cut to the desired configuration. The machine produces 6,000 polypropylene 250-500g soup cups/hour.
Aseptic packaging technology extends shelf life of the soup products to 60 days at an ambient temperature, says Benco Pack, a division of Sacmi Group.
