Beautiful new labels in rebrand of Bramley and Gage artisan liqueurs and premium gin

Who are they?

Bramley & Gage's family based business is the only working distillery in the local area, close to Bristol. It has been producing artisan fruit liqueurs and gin since 1988 and then in 2010 introduced a premium gin in 6 O'clock Gin.

Why Re brand?

With the success of their liqueurs and especially 6 O'Clock Gin they wanted to work on representing the wonderful quality and taste of their products as best they could, so launched a rebrand campaign.

Amberley adhesive labels have been providing their packaging labels for over 4 years and it was this positive working relationship that allowed the smooth transition from old style labels to the great new innovative substrates and embellishments used for the rebranded digital labels.

6 O'Clock GIN

HIstory
The 6 O'clock comes from the time of day that Edward, their head distiller's great grandfather, would take his Gin and Tonic. 6 O'clock Gin has always been blue and silver and they wanted to keep this theme. Making the bottle blue seemed like the obvious choice as they are based just outside Bristol, so took inspiration from the iconic Bristol Blue Glass.

Design
Consumer feedback suggested there were many elements to the packaging that was liked and they wanted to make sure this was captured as they moved forward with local Bristol design agency Green Chameleon. The family's long history of engineering the gin and being a precision craft, cleverly introduced elements of this into the brand with gears and cogs now housed within the number 6. Amberley Adhesive Labels knowledge and experience delivered the conversion of green chameleons amazing designs into a finished label.
On the blue bottles, glass clear pp was used to offer that 'no label look' as if printed directly on to the bottle and on the clear smaller bottles a digitally printed match of the iconic blue offers on shelf brand consistency. Both labels incorporate a hotfoil stamp of the detailed 6 o'clock brand.

The Result
The end result really does justice to the strikingly smooth Gin that stands out from the crowd. Bramley and Gage commented on how pleased they were with the colour match blue which was achieved due to Amberley Adhesive Labels continued investment in high quality digital technology and their experience and knowledge in premium beverage packaging.

Bramley & Gage Fruit Liqueurs

History
They have produced these Award Winning products for over 27 years, staying true to their roots and the fact that every one of their liqueurs is made from carefully sourced whole fruits was very important to the brand.

Design
For the artisan liqueurs again they worked with Green Chameleon to design a look that still captured the full flavour of the history and craft expertise unique to the company.
A fantastic illustrator called Irene Laschi has hand drawn all the new fruit images to go on the fruit liqueur range, along with delicious serving suggestions. Green Chameleon were then tasked with bringing all the elements together whilst we chose a paper stock to create labels that really pop when on the shelf and that are also wonderfully tactile and rustic.

Result
Amberley Labels understood the importance of maintaining expectations of the premium brand - our advice on the substrate pure cotton produced the textured and rustic look and feel that was desired, overcoming the challenge of digitally producing labels on a textured substrate
