BCF to host ink migration summit

13 November 2013

The British Coatings Federation is running a Food Packaging Summit on the theme ‘Managing the Migration Myth’, on 28 November 2013 in Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK.

With keynote speakers from Danone and Waitrose, the summit will bring together all those in the supply chain, sharing knowledge and facilitating discussion between ink and substrate suppliers, converters, brand owners and retailers.

BCF states: “There has been increased interest in food packaging safety and food quality issues in recent years, with ink migration becoming a significant factor.

“With increased awareness and ever more sensitive measuring techniques, this will not go away.”

Taking place between 10:00 and 16:00 at the Sketchley Grange Hotel, the Summit schedule will also feature presentations from Domino, Sun Chemical and Flint Group.

“This day should help to give you the background you need in the why’s and how’s of the full packaging chain,” the organisation says, “including the legislator’s, brand owner’s and retailer’s viewpoints, and then some ideas on how to ensure you are compliant.”
