Corrugated board packaging supplier Atlas Packaging has launched a retail shop exclusively for customers local to its base in Barnstaple, Devon, in the south-west of England.
Designed to enable local small and medium sized businesses to take advantage of Atlas’s “unrivalled expertise” in the production of corrugated packaging, The Box Shop is the brainchild of 25-year packaging industry veteran Jon Spain.
“The core of Atlas customers are major manufacturers who require bespoke packaging to suit their individual requirements,” says Spain. “This can be expensive as unique cutters need to be created for each design and minimum quantities have to apply.
“However once the cutter has been created, it is possible to produce much smaller quantities, which are ideal for businesses looking for between 50 and 2,000 units.”
All of Atlas’s boxes are specifically designed to be easy to build, Spain adds, coming in a great variety of shapes and sizes.
“You really don’t need to be a Krypton Factor contestant to assemble one,” he says. New machinery scheduled for installation at Atlas next year will mean the company can produce one-off boxes enabling it to extend its new Box Shop services to individuals as well.
