ARDAGH'S NEW DESIGN BOOK 'WHY METAL?' PROVIDES ALL THE ANSWERS

Ardagh Group has published a second metal packaging design book entitled ‘Why Metal?’.  This volume, with many advanced reader-friendly features, contains important insights, interviews and a host of eye-catching examples that showcase the scope of metal packaging to shape, decorate and add convenience to brands from around the world.

The book inspires, and sometimes challenges, designers and marketing professionals on the limitless possibilities and beauty of metal packaging, with stunning images, thought provoking articles and interviews. Included are interviews with Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy, member of European Parliament, Roland ten Klooster, Professor Packaging Design and Nienke Smit, Director Retail & Shopper at TNS NIPO.

“Our aim as a leading global producer of consumer packaging is to take readers on a design voyage -  a journey that will take them  from an initial pure concept of packaging towards sustainability and convenience driven innovative metal packaging solutions,” says Woep Möller, CEO of Ardagh’s Metal Division, Food & Speciality Europe. He adds: “We hope that ‘Why Metal?’ will stimulate much debate and discussion – the sure way we believe to help you achieve even greater innovation.”

A unique feature of the book is interactivity provided through invisible watermarks embedded in the designs throughout the book. With the use of a bespoke Ardagh ‘Why Metal? ‘App from the iOS app store, readers are linked to 3D modelling and informative film material such as production processes and recycling.
