Dispensing systems producer Aptar Food + Beverage is offering dry online sterilisation to Log 4 for sports caps using a UV ray system from its partner, clean disinfection technology company Claranor.
The pulsed light system developed by Claranor uses the bactericidal effect of UV rays, applied through very short and powerful flashes to decontaminate the surfaces.
This system has the advantage of being clean, dry and chemical free.
With the Claranor system the company’s Original sport cap can be sterilized to Log 4 directly on production lines.
“Aptar Food + Beverage strongly believes Claranor pulsed light solutions present obvious environmental and safety benefits for the sterilisation of sports closures,” the US-based company says.
“The technology is a cost-effective alternative to existing chemical and irradiation solutions, compliant with industrial requirements and constraints.”
Aptar has also announced that its 1881 Light Original sports closure will be available in Asia by the end of 2012.
First launched in Europe in 2011, the 1881 Light Original became the first flip-top sports cap to be produced in Brazil, with products reaching the shelves in that country early this year.
