The ‘weight’ is over

Simple to operate checkweighers that are easy to adapt to new or changing products and pack sizes, and can be switched to other production lines or manufacturing plants should the need arise, are particularly useful in contract packaging, where users can see significant reductions in downtime and a major improvements in food product safety, according to Loma Systems.

Its CW3 HeavyWeight for the food industry unit handles bag or case weights up to 60kg, performs on high-speed lines up to 50m/min, has capacity to weigh up to 60 pieces/min and will cope with large products up to 850mm long and 600mm wide. All this, and it has a small footprint, too, says Loma.

At the same time it is good for heavy usage and easy to clean, with the bead-blast surface of the machine being water-repellent to stop cleaning solutions settling.

The glass-free LED indicator stack gives easily visible red and green signals to show the machine is operational, to ensure the rejection system is also functioning.

A second machine, the CW3 DragLink checkweigher for high production packaging lines can work at belt speeds up to 120m/min, weighs flexible and rigid packs of sizes up to 6kg to an accuracy of 0.6g, and has capacity for up to 440 pieces/min. ‘A much greater production yield’ is possible claims Loma.
