Cermex multi-task robots take the strain
7 January 2010
French robotics specialist Cermex has solutions to handle product assortments and a multi-tasking robot unit for end of line operations. Mechanical parts are absent or reduced for easier and safer access to the collating area. Size change-over adjustments can be carried out by robot, keeping operators out of harm’s way. Equipment can fit into production sites with low ceilings and be tailored to payload and speed.
Supplied to a French manufacturer of ready meals, Celtigel, this Cermex WB4500 set-up has two case packing robots for loading cartons into trays with ledges. The same company also uses Cermex ER50 robotics to collate mixed batches of ready meals for promotional campaigns.
In addition, a home and personal care group’s Spanish plant is using a WB4500 6-axis robot to top load shoe polish products into plasticS thermoformed trays and then into wraparound blanks, which are afterwards transferred to a folding and glueing station.
