Beatson Clark is the UK’s leading manufacturer of low volume speciality glass containers and is renowned for its expertise in the beer sector and has manufactured bottles for a number of top-class breweries, including Moorhouse’s.
Moorhouse’s used a very traditional 500ml amber bottle for these two key national brands in the past, but following a label re-design and a new approach to packaging, Moorhouse’s needed a new supplier who could deliver a lightweight bottle in the quantities they required. The levels of customer service Moorhouse’s demand led them to contact Beatson Clark.
“We inquired as to the possibility of producing a light weight 500ml tall bottle, explained David Grant, managing director at Moorhouse’s, “and we decided to go for a bespoke bottle embossed with the company logo. After all, quality product should go into quality packaging.”
The new embossed bottle will be filled from October 2008 and will start to appear on shelves in time for this Christmas.
Beatson Clark’s marketing manager Charlotte Taylor said, “We are delighted to be working with Moorhouse’s and Rawlings & Son on this new lightweight bottle. Lightweighting is something we have been working on for several years now, as it is good for the environment and popular with our clients. The high levels of customer service we can offer has seen many companies approach us on our lightweighting capabilities and Moorhouse’s is a good example of a long standing customer who have asked for our help in this area.”
The new taller amber bottle has distinct embossing on the shoulder and a familiar crown neck finish. Moorhouse’s have placed an order for an initial 400,000 bottles to get them started.
Charlotte continued: “Orders of this size are no problem for Beatson Clark. Our experience and facilities gives us the capability to design, produce and deliver very quickly to client requirements.“
