The European Flexographic Technical Association held their annual awards ceremony this week, and flexible packaging specialists FFP Packaging Solutions of Northampton did rather well.
The EFTA awards are recognised as the premier flexo print quality awards in Europe, rewarding excellence across all flexo disciplines, including labels, flexible packaging, cartons and corrugated etc.
FFP’s haul of awards – Gold – medium web process print (the most keenly contested category, Silver – technical innovation, and Silver – Best in Show.
FFP entered Sainsbury’s Jamie Oliver premium steak pack, which, apart from the high quality flexo print, featured their unique “Paperfeel” paper-effect textured print process, which creates the impression of a traditional pack but can be run at high speed on a standard packing line.
As Gary Tee, Business Development manager at FFP put it: “We love the opportunity to pit ourselves against our competitors in this way – it helps us to benchmark ourselves against the competition and means that we are continually challenging ourselves to stay at the forefront of the technique and the technology”.
